With numbers of major auto maker (BMW, Volvo, Audi, General Motors and even Google) that are currently testing driverless cars, public may start thinking (or dreaming) of “when can I get driverless car?” Most of the auto makers say “2018!” They plan to make the vehicles available for mass production by 2018.

When Can I Buy Driverless Car

Irrespective to the tech aspect, there is a huge hurdle blocking the plan: the state legislation. A report (in an infographic), published at a law office website, Daniel R. Rosen, reads that Nevada passed Assembly Bill No. 511 , in June 2011. “The first state law officially sanctioning driverless cars”. Similar law have also been introduced in Florida and Hawaii, the infographic reads.

So, when can you expect to buy a driverless car?
